so i'm sitting here in the lab for a sunday session; everyone is working hard on their projects. alejandra and i just spent about an hour figuring out how to record a voice over using a mic & windows movie maker (premire wasn't playing nice enough so we had to port over the wma file after we recorded). fun stuff! i took a number of recording, mixing & editing classes in college, so i love a good throwback.
those of you who were walking with me between the media center and our lab on friday and heard me complaining about all the sun, i did in fact get a sunburn. it's a really funny looking one because of my tank tops too. oops. guess i should be spending more time outside....
those of you who were chatting about comicon, i didn't ever make it. my friend (who had my tickets) got stuck up in la friday night, so not only did i miss the movie night, but i also missed comicon. boo! i heard it was crazy though - 150,000 people daily!!
well, we are coming up on our last week, somehow or another. time sure does fly! i'm going to write a little bit about my job & my majors in another post, since they are fun, computer-based and (to me) way interesting.
happy sunday!

a post!
so i'm the worst blogger ever...i'll see if i can make up for it in these last few days. a lot has happened since my last blog, and now everyone is working on their final videos, so i have time to write in class! we finished photoshop, made some awesome postcards, introduced premier and created video shorts to get familiar with making movies. today we get to go up to the media center to check out equipment and use the bluescreen, both of which i am excited about. i've actually never been to the media center (i always used to check out audio equipment from the music department, and i haven't made any movies before!) and i've definitely never seen a bluescreen. the movies made on wednesday were really cool, so i'm super excited (woohoo) to see the full-length finals everyone comes up with. in the meantime, i'll try to stay entertained: somebody ask me a question! oh yes, if anyone reads this and was in last friday's talk from adobe, let me know what happened, i'm very curious!

tail end of monday
(random cool pic: crystals found in mexico)so here we are in week two...just finishing up day one...i thought today was pretty sweet. we got a brief intro to color theory (a really interesting topic in my opinion) and ming offered some more photoshop advice. i got everyone started on the postcard project, my only regret is that i didn't get to make one. boo. but i was really impressed with everyone's work, especially considering we only had about an hour. i'm pretty sure my valentine took me waaaay longer than that. hopefully it was fun and everyone got an idea of how (overwhelming yet) useful photoshop is. getting started on video editing was good for me, as i have less experience with it than digital imaging. i'm gonna have to study up! i'm looking forward to wednesday, as i'll be working with the programming cluster instead of authoring. see yall then!

week one
well our first week has been awesome so far...getting to know each other a bit and actually learning some things too! the lectures on introductory computer science & media topics were a great review and summarization of the stuff i learned in my first few courses on the subject (way back in my second year). it's been nice to brush up on my photoshop skills too; i'm looking forward to working on a little digital imaging project with everyone on monday. here's a little preview....
